Glamorous Coffee Tables

To find an affordable, or "semi-affordable" (meaning I'd have to save up some money for at least 6 months and completely hypnotize the boyfriend into thinking it's a good idea) has been a struggle, to say the least. We currently and embarrassingly have the $20 black Ikea Lack. Haven't done any cool and glamorous Ikea hack to it or anything. I really hate it. HOWEVER, I will say that it has lasted far longer than I expected. We've had it for 5 years. 5 years! And it goes through a lot of wear and tear. We pretty much eat dinner off of it every night. The laptop is on it. I paint my toenails on it. (Ewww, that sounds kind of gross after I just admitted we eat off of it every day.) I sit on it. I don't know why, but sometimes It's more comfy than the couch. My point is, it should look beat up or worthy of a home on the curb, but there are no chips, no scratches, no nothin'. Way to go Ikea. Five years for $20? I'm a believer in you. But, it's time to move on.

I've digressed. The search to find a replacement coffee table is SO hard. Every coffee table I like is $3,000. No lie. And I do want it to be functional. Glass is probably not a good idea. Too precious. I found an amazing option this weekend. It's a great price. But then I put it next to all of my other tagged coffee tables and, wah, it doesn't look as good. Figures. So, I'm seeking your help. Which is your favorite coffee table? Can I justify a car down payment on a coffee table or am I being completely ridiculous? At LEAST I haven't bookmarked past the $2,500 range. Because I could totally go to 1st Dibs and want every single coffee table they have. But I realize, that won't happen, ever. See? I do have some type of boundary, right? Help me!

Ok, my thoughts in order: The Cachet Coffee Table is the the best choice I've found so far. Overall, it's glamorous, has a taverntine top, and is a great price. I'm worried that the top is too brown and not white enough. This Antwerp Coffee Table is my second choice in affordability and durability. I'd probably gold leaf the iron so it's not too industrial. The Ottoman in Velvet Navy is a gorgeous color. Navy is my accent color, so it could be a daring choice. The Renate Coffee Table is my boyfriend's choice. Probably because it's very Restoration Hardware and what man doesn't like that store? Both upholstered choices are SUPER affordable. 

Now, the beautiful, beautiful ladies I want in my life, but just can't afford. I COULD save for one of them, if you convince me that I'm not crazy. The Lillian August Coffee Table is DIVINE. I LOVE shagreen and it is glass on top, but for some reason doesn't seem too precious to me. It's $2,200. Ouch. That hurts to type. My DREAM coffee table is probably this Neal Gold Leaf and White Marble Coffee Table. It's modern, it's glamorous, it has an awesome shape. It looks SO COOL. And, of course, when I put it in my "virtual" living room layout, it looks the best. It's $2,400. Yea, you could buy a car for that. A crappy car, but a car. SO, am I crazy to hold out and buy the most expensive thing I've ever bought? Which one should I get?
