Fashion: Lulu Frost Jewelry in 2013

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Did anybody else notice that jewelry BLEW UP this past year?  Arm swag and diamonds are dripping from people's bodies. Want to wear a ring on every finger? It flys. 10 bracelets? Sure can. I think with Instagram and Pinterest people have really stepped their jewelry game up. Have you noticed one designer in particular that is blazing the scene? Lulu Frost. It's run by Lisa Salzer in New York who came from a family who have been in the estate jewelry business for a long time, but the company was just founded in 2004!! Talk about quick success. I'm sure Lulu has been amazing in the past, but this past year the brand killed in the accessories department. And although, WAY out of my price range, I can goo and gaw, and MAYBE just maybe, splurge on one of the Lulu Frost collab pieces with J. Crew, which are slightly more affordable. The styling and shooting of their collection for the new year is just stunning. Lulu Frost, can I come work for you? Check it out.

Aren't the photos amazing? I want to be those models dripped in jewels. And the fabrics and patterns play perfectly with the jewelry and the colors. Great job stylists! Here are some pieces that you can admire. Some aren't too outrageously priced, meaning around $200. I mean, if we're comparing a necklace to Forever 21, then we're comparing shacks and mansions. But $200, I can justify. I mean, you'll have the piece FOREVER. Here are some of my faves from the collection:

1.) Glamour X

Now, these are the one of a kind necklaces. We've made it to the big show people. Each piece in the 100 year and 50 year collection has vintage elements from that point of time: their take on a history lesson. There are brooches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces in the collection and each are unique. Only one piece is out there, for one lucky rich lady.

And now....The grand daddy of them all pricing at almost $2,000. Yikes. But it sure is a stunner.

They also have a new men's line, which is considered unisex, galled George Frost. Not exactly my cup of tea. However, I know a ton of girls that would wear the shit out of this and look amazing doing so. Those hippy, vintage, eclectic New Yorkers? All over it. (And how I would love to be you in another life.)

Tell me, tell me! Which piece is your favorite? Of course I want the grand daddy of them all: the 100 Year Necklace 1! Just think, there is only one in the world like that! That's pretty darn cool.

  1. I love this kind of Jewelry, it's a shame all the stuff on the high street is so boring! Although I think it would take a bold outfit to match up to some of these items!
